The area around the villa

Just a 60 minute drive from either of the two airports, in Heraklion and Chania, Casa Rizzato is found on the sandy stretch of beach on the east side of Rethymno in an area called “Platanias”, only a few minutes’ walk from your daily provisions or a variety of traditional taverns.

Platanias also has easy access to the national road and well known tourist areas such as Adelianos Kampos and Pigianos Kampos where you will find many shops, supermarkets, restaurants and entertainment.  A 10 minute drive to the west, you will find Rethymno city with its unique old town centre, Venetian Harbour, marina and the long sandy beach which lies in front of the city. A local bus service provides regular, easy access to the town.
